What do we do?

We run events for children aged between 5 to 12 years that love dancing and singing. Our parties started at the request of pupils and have grown from there. There are number of us actively “partying” now at the weekends, one or more of which will come to you dependent on the size and demands of your party.

What is the format of our parties?

Our parties run for 1.5 hours at the beginning or your party. Depending on the age group, we start with games (pop star related), singing, learn a routine that is choreographed for your event, have mini makeovers and put on a performance. Also some dressing up for the younger ones.

Who are we?

Nya Fogden I run Pop Star Parties and will talk to you when you call or answer your e-mails. I am a qualified dance teacher and performer and work on a freelance basis, providing private lessons, choreography, workshops and other services. I have been teaching children for 17 years (started young!) and running my own business for 5 years. All my party entertainers have been known personally to me for many years and are experienced whilst bringing something up to date, fresh and enthusiastic to the mix.

Leana is 19 years old and a professional performer, teacher and entertainer. She has the full set of qualifications in dancing and performing arts and I can always rely on her to be enthusiastic, reliable, outgoing and quick witted. She has conducted many parties with great feedback and the parents often comment on capable and popular she is with the children. She can also be relied upon to just happen to have suitably pop star type clothes and know all the tunes I haven't heard of!

Catherine is 20 years old and studying for a BA Honours Degree in Dance at Guildford University. She has taken classes of her own now for a number of years having completed all her British Arts exams and now enjoys the entertaining side of teaching. I can always rely on her to remember every detail about every child and of every party we have ever done, get the shy children to open up and think on her feet. She still performs regularly.

Elouise is 24 and works with children full time both teaching, entertaining and managing a children's nursery locally. She has many years of experience teaching all age groups and has qualifications in dance, teaching, child care and first aid. I can always rely on her to be one step ahead on planning and to take pride in each and every party. She has conducted a large number of parties and workshops with many repeat bookings.

Amy is 20 and is at St Mary's University doing an Education degree, focusing on the primary age group. She has danced throughout her life and has taught children of all ages for over 4 years now. She loves working with children and has conducted a number of parties with very good results. She can always be relied on to be committed, flexible and to shop like a pop star whenever she is not working!

Katie is 24 and a full time dance teacher at a London school. She has a degree in Dance and Culture from Surrey and a PGCE in Dance fro the Royal Academy of Dance. She has taught for performing arts schools and has completed all her dancing exams. She works with us at weekends and enjoys doing parties for all age groups. I can always count on her, which I would expect as she is my cousin!

"Other party entertainers working with us very successfully at the moment are Zara, Tanya, Roxanne and Aimee. They all have dance/ musical theatre backgrounds and work often with children in classes, workshops and at parties."

FAQ

Do you cover my area and how much does it cost?

Our core areas are within 12 miles of Hanworth in Middlesex (this is the central point between all of us). This includes areas of Surrey, Berkshire and Greater London. We do however conduct many parties further afield – just ask for a quote to include travel costs and time.

What do you bring with you?

A CD player, pop music for the age group, make up, some accessories for dressing up, small gift for the birthday child.

What availability do you have?

Please try to give as much notice as possible as we do get a large number of requests. However, there are a number of us conducting parties at the weekends so it is always worth giving us a try (even last minute!) and we will help you if we possibly can.

What age group is it most suitable for?

The party will be geared to the age group of the children. With smaller children (5 years) often it is less structured, as they tend to enjoy lots of games, copy dancing, dressing up etc. For older children, a whole performance can be put together.

How much space do you need?

Some people have our parties in halls and others in their homes. The children will need enough room to move around freely.

Do you provide party bags?

Some parents prefer to do these themselves and others love the convenience of us providing these. We therefore provide bags as an add-on option. They are £1.99 each and include a coloured & themed party bag, pack of love heart sweets, rainbow hair scrunchie, coloured bangle, balloon, smiley face ring, lolly and stickers.

Other Events

Please note we can often provide other dance parties and cabarets for both children and adults. If you have a themed event or idea for a party and would like some entertainment, do call us to discuss. Recent themes/engagements have included Grease, Line Dancing, 20s, Rock & Roll, Spanish and American.

We also provide private tuition for adults and children in many different forms of dance. If you are a group of friends or work-mates, who would like their own class, we can set this up for you.
